SILENT SAMARITAN
|
The Silent Samaritan Campaign for Women Bright daffodils have long been a symbol of hope coming to bloom just after a long winter. Like the flower, each Silent Samaritan stands for the ray of hope extended to women in need who seek the healing of counseling in their dark winter of life. Women often come to Samaritan NPS Counseling Centers seeking help when they are depressed, struggling with the trauma of an abusive relationship, experiencing the pain of divorce or separation, or picking up the pieces after the loss of a loved one. Often these women have extremely limited incomes., Some of these women have nowhere else to turn for support and hope. The Silent Samaritan Campaign invites women in the community to come together and give to a fund that makes counseling affordable to very low-income women. The money raised by the Silent Samaritan Campaign ensures that women with extremely limited incomes are able to receive counseling. Women served by funds from the Silent Samaritan Campaign come from diverse communities in the greater Everett and North Seattle area. |

How does the Silent Samaritan Campaign work? The cornerstone of the Silent Samaritan Campaign is its Honorary members. This dedicated group of women give $100 or more to women in need and invite their friends and associates to do the same. All Silent Samaritans — every woman who gives to the campaign — are invited to the Samaritan Lunch at the conclusion to celebrate the campaign's success in April. Funds contributed to the campaign allow women in need to receive counseling for a reasonable fee based on need. Who is involved in the Silent Samaritan Campaign? Women, men and organizations from all walks of life and many different Christian denominations have joined together to help women in need. As an ecumenical Christian counseling center, our campaign attracts contributors as diverse and unique as the women they seek to help. JOIN US!
